Although the economy has been rough for the past couple of years, St. Louis still continues to shine in many job related magazine ratings. These ratings, ranked by some of the most elite magazines, show that St. Louis’ jobs are not only desirable, but that they also provide security and longevity.
As stated by The BusinessWeek 50, three St. Louis based companies, Express Scripts, Monsanto, and Peabody Energy, were named No. 6, No. 42, and No. 49 respectively. These rankings were given through stock performance on the S&P 500-stock index over the last five years.
Three St. Louis based companies were also listed on Fortune magazines 2011 edition of “100 Best Companies to Work For”. Edward Jones has made this list for twelve consecutive years, with this years ranking being No. 11. Right behind EJ was Scottrade at No. 12 and Build-A-Bear following at No. 48.
These rankings put St. Louis in a top tier of job cities in the U.S. The economy is slowly recovering and with these positive trends, St. Louis jobs will only continue to grow and become stronger. So if you want to be happy while working, have a sense of job security, and work for a highly performing company, come work in St. Louis!!!
